Mark Fitchett

Listening to Mark Fitchett play the guitar is like hearing the history of the electric guitar in a single artist. Inhabiting the space between jazz, rock, and blues, his playing exemplifies the best of each world while emphasizing his own unique approach and personality.

And like all great artists past and present Fitchett plays with unadulterated commitment, feeling and passion. A fearless improviser who is never at a loss for notes, Mark is not afraid to take chances and make bold musical statements.

Fitchett enjoys playing in different styles and being the "jack of all trades and master of none" because as he states "I bore myself quite easily."

Some of the things chosen to be put on this site are by no means technical feats of guitar prowess, but rather things that had a good feel to him.

Great performers don't usually have a problem with a few mistakes or out of tune notes once in a while as long as something musical is happening.

As well, Fitchett is a serious composer and has included music written for modern dance companies, orchestral pieces, solo instruments, and a variety of ensembles..

Mark uses synthesizers, samplers and real instruments on the compositional works, and some of it even has guitar.
